TASTE TRADITIONAL BRITISH HOSPITALITY AT THE TEA PARLOUR

PARTY planners can now offer their guests a traditional British tea service as part of their celebrations thanks to one of Merseyside’s most unique venues.

The Tea Parlour, Mathew Street, Liverpool, which offers vintage afternoon tea in a traditional British setting, is available for private hire for a whole host of occasions. The Grade II listed venue is offering its facilities and catering to those looking for a venue with a difference for special events, such as hen dos, weddings, birthdays and baby showers.

The venue dishes up some of Britain’s favourite desserts such as scones, Eton mess, lemon meringue pie and chocolate gateaux, along with a range of loose leaf teas served with tea timers and strainers. Along with offering homemade food and locally sourced tea the venue, which can cater for up to 60 guests, also offers live music from their resident pianist, a vintage dress-up photo area and several activities tailored to suit individual events.

“The Tea Parlour is a great venue for anyone planning an intimate event, which makes it perfect for weddings, hen dos and other special occasions,” said Sharon Conteh, co-owner of The Tea Parlour. “All our food is homemade and we pride ourselves on our great baking and quality tea selections. “We’ve designed our menus to be as traditional as possible, but there are some exceptions, for example we like to keep banoffee pie on the menu because the Tea Parlour used to be a banana warehouse. “We’re not professional chefs, just good home bakers and we love what we do. It’s so rare these days to be able to experience a proper British tea service, so it’s great that we can offer our guests that experience.”
