Style Expert talks about the use of artificial flowers in weddings

Flower power:  Wayfair’s Resident Style Expert, Nadia McCowan Hill talks about the use of artificial flowers in weddings:

Picture it – walking down the aisle with a beautiful array of flowers, stunning colours that radiate across the room and emit flawless radiance. However, these flowers are not the kind that will need to be put aside following your special day. These are flowers, that like the memories of your joyous occasion, will live on in blossomed perfection.

From barre to beach: Confidence boosting honeymoon workouts

Before we know it, Summer will be here and many of us are looking longingly (aka jealously glaring at celebs’ Instagram pictures) at beach scenes while we count down the days a well-deserved holiday or honeymoon!  Nothing sets off stunning swimwear more than some serious body confidence, so Barreworks founder Vicki Anstey has created a series of DIY workouts to help you feel fantastic.

Barreworks is a studio totally dedicated to ballet and barre workouts, designed to benefit your whole body with low impact, high intensity movements that help to lift bottoms, trim thighs and define arms. If you can’t make it to the beautiful studio in Richmond, you can enjoy online classes at www.barreworks.co.uk.

Social Media Etiquette (Infographic)

Social Media Etiquette (Infographic)

It’s a modern day problem to an age old traditional day: social media and whether to allow it on your wedding day. With smartphones being ubiquitous in our world today, social media is simply very much part of many people’s daily lives and a wedding day is just another moment to share.

Many couples have no issue whatsoever with this and might not even contemplate it in the lead up to their wedding while others discuss it and decide on whether to ban it or allow it. It’s not uncommon to attend a wedding to find a sign at the door asking you to refrain from posting photos to social media; of course there’s the opposite also where you’ll see a sign asking you to post to a specific hashtag!

a day in the life of a wedding planner

WHY I WANT TO BE THE UK’S FIRST SOCIAL MEDIA WEDDING BRIDE

Zoe Anastasi and Will Diggins social media weddings

A bride has told of her excitement as she prepares to take part in the UK’s first official social media wedding.

Zoe Anastasi’s big day will be captured and broadcast by iPhone-carrying photographers every 15 minutes on social media. Her ceremony will be live streamed over Twitter and there will be social media walls at her reception. Her day has even been organised over Facebook.

For Zoe, from Derby, it was a no-brainer to have a professionally-run social media wedding.

“Your wedding day is the biggest day of your life. You worry that it’s over in 24 hours, and I think it’s great to enjoy the build-up, to get more people involved in it. It makes it more special.

All About Party Bags

All About Party Bags

After everything you’ve put in to planning your big day, you really don’t want that dream shattered by the shrill cry of a restless child – particularly during the all-important vows and speeches. Every bride and groom has nightmares of crying babies or bored kids being a burden on their wedding day, and likewise parents can be overly conscious of their children’s behaviour and find the fact they have been invited stressful.

Calling all lovebirds…

Calling all lovebirds… Are you adventurous, into your technology, and like to do things a little differently?

Are you adventurous, into your technology, and like to do things a little differently?

If you’re thinking of proposing to your other half this year then why not ask DronesDirect.co.uk, the UK’s largest online drones e-tailer, to lend a helping hand?

Individuals can now woo their partner with an alternative wedding proposal that features high-tech drone delivery. The Wedding Proposal Package, allows an engagement ring to be delivered on cue to a prearranged location and includes use of a second drone to capture footage of the momentous occasion and the great reactions.

Best Man Speech

Best Man Speech

When you are asked to be a best man at your friend or sibling’s wedding, it truly is an honour. Once the dust has settled on you being asked though, it can become a little daunting and the fear can set in especially when thoughts turn to delivering the best man’s speech on the big day.

When a guy asks their buddy or sibling to be best man, they generally don’t choose them for their oratory skills but those skills might need to be honed or developed a little for the occasion of the wedding. It’s important that the best man doesn’t put too much pressure on himself about the speech because doing so is likely to heighten nerves even further.
